ARTHOUSE
A Boston University original live-action television comedy pilot.

The Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre and the BU College of Communication Department of Film & Television collaborated to produce an original live-action TV comedy pilot titled "Art House." This unique project was performed and filmed before a live studio audience at the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre. The project involved students from various disciplines within the university. The screenplay, written by students from the film, TV, and playwriting programs, was brought to life with all aspects of production managed by students. This included filming, editing, and directing by film & television students, while acting, design, and production roles were filled by theatre students.
The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between different artistic disciplines, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience. The making of the sitcom included multiple takes and scene rehearsals, allowing the live studio audience to witness the creative process. The pilot episode of "Art House" is expected to premiere in late 2023, marking a significant milestone in BU's interdisciplinary educational endeavors.
